Thankfully he didn't murder Isabel for refusing to be raped, like he did to Mary Ann Campbell. A simple google search reveals the monster this man was, and your painting him as a quirky, charming teddy bear-- while perhaps accurate to part of him-- is rather a large disservice to the many he killed, none more notably than the 27 year old girl, tossed from a 6th story building like a beer bottle.
